Ward Guy Wilbur, 66, of Saranac Lake was pronounced dead on Monday Nov. 25, after police responded to 19 Morris Way. Angela Ball, 29, of Saranac Lake was arrested for murder later that day.

CVPH Medical Center officially unveiled its newest renovation Nov. 12. The new wing containing 22 private and health efficient rooms is located on the medical center’s fourth floor. It will open to patients Nov. 20.

Guests are invited to a two-night viewing of the grand Egyptian Asp, the dinner will be hosted for its extravagance and mystery and possibly a murder. The Curse of the Golden Asp Mystery Dinner Theater, hosted by the Woodman of the World chapters 462 and 1016, is a fundraiser for the Plattsburgh Relay for Life Survivor Committee. The event will take place at the Plattsburgh Elks Club, 56 Cumberland Ave. The two night performance will be held Nov. 8 and Nov. 9. Doors Open at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. This will be the third year WOW will host the theater group for their annual fundraiser and the second year they do it to raise money for the Relay for Life.
As the 23-month anniversary of a tragic accident that claimed the lives of four high school students comes and passes, their families and parents continue to fight to decrease the odds of similar tragedies.
Looking for an alternative to the average pumpkin patch picking? Try taking the plunge and out swimming other youth for the best pumpkin at the Bobbing for Pumpkins event at the Plattsburgh YMCA. Bobbing for Pumpkins will be held at the YMCA pool, 17 Oak Street, Oct. 27 and “bob” times will vary for age groups. Kids age 3 to 5 will take the plunge between 12:30 and 1 p.m., kids age 6 to 8 will take the plunge between 2 and 2:30 p.m., and kids age 9 to 14 will take the plunge between 2:45 and 3:15 p.m.
