CCC to hold Veterans Day Ceremony

— Clinton Community College to Hold Veteran’s Day Ceremony with college faculty and staff and local Veterans at noon on Monday, Nov. 12.

The CCC Veterans Club will hold the ceremony to honor Veteran’s Day near Flagpole is located at the south entrance of the Moore Academic Building. The Observation will begin at noon with a welcome from student speaker and veteran Jimmy Duvall. This year’s keynote speaker is Thomas Middleton. Middleton is an Iraq War Veteran and Alumnus of Clinton Community College.

The observation will include a ceremonial folding of the flag by the Plattsburgh State ROTC Honor Guard, a 21 gun salute, playing of TAPS by Clinton Professor Jim Bougill and a moment of silence for the three New York National Guard Soldiers killed in Afghanistan, including former Clinton Community College student Dain Venne of Port Henry. Closing remarks will be given by the student speaker.

Immediately following the ceremony a short reception will be held in the Stafford atrium where cake and coffee will be provided by the Veterans Club.

The Veterans Club will also be hosting a bake sale, raffle, sale of wrist bands and distribution of poppies in the lobby of the Moore Building prior to the event. All of the proceeds will go to the CCC Veterans Assistance Fund.
