Brant Lake Winter Carnival

Tri-Lakes Business Alliance is sponsoring a Brant Lake Winter Carnival to be held Saturday, February 9th, on the ice at Jimbo’s Club on Brant Lake. The Horicon Fire Department is challenging a local adult softball team in SnowShoe Softball beginning at 11 am, followed by a Curling Demonstration by the Lake Placid Curling Club and participant game at noon, with the OutHouse Races scheduled to begin around 2pm. Broomball Tournaments, Frisbee Golf, Flag Hockey, Ice Bowling, Putter Golf, a Hockey ShootOut and other activities will be set up for people to play throughout the day, and there will be a Bear Carving demonstration by Frank Cavoli as well as a Vintage Snowmobile showing on site. Children’s activities include a Kid’s Ice Fishing Tournament with instruction and bait provided by The Crossroads & The Tri-Lakes Business Alliance, Snow Sculpting, a Snowman Building Contest and a Parent/Child Sled Race. Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing self guided tours will be available on the lake, and people are encouraged to come by skiis, snowmobiles or ATV’s as parking may be limited. A Skating Rink is also available and will be open to the public that day.
Admission and all events are free and Jimbo’s will have the restaurant open as well as be selling hamburgers & hotdogs on the beach. Lindsey Meade is providing music during the day, and the Ray Alexander Trio will be playing inside during the evening.
